Well, I hate to admit it, but winter is on the march here in the NorthLand...
Given that eventuality, I've picked up a surplus cold-start system from a local military vehicle shop (for wwII/korean vintage jeeps and such). This basically consists of a hand-pump, tubing and jets that can be used to "spritz" atomized fuel into the intake to assist with cold starting (kind of like a p-o-o-r mans fuel injection system).
Supposed to be the absolute shiznit, and I have had trouble starting in the cold weather before (in the -10's below and colder), so it sounds good to me.
Here's the thing: The parts are designed to be installed in holes tapped into the fuel intake manifold. Now, I'm not super keen on drilling into my manifold for something that isn't an emergency and for "non-stock" upgrades, so...
Here's my idea: There is a balance tube that connects the two carbs and which is already tapped into the intake manifold below each carb. What do you guys think of "t"-ing off of each of these ports to put my "spritzer" jets?
Seems like a brilliant idea to me, but WTFDIK
Opinions, advice, comments and general snyde remarks welcome.
