Yet Another Pinz Article

Article entitled "Swiss Military Vehicle Ideal For Farm Use" appears in the magazine called "Farm Show", Sept.-Oct 2006, Vol. 30, No. 5, page 17.

Obviously just thinly-veiled advertising for Texas Pinzgauer, Inc. Despite
the title of the article, there is no mention of any practical farm uses.

A few strange statements from the article:

"Each wheel has its own drive axle to provide true 4-WD." Wow, I should hope that each wheel has a drive axle! This is the kind of
nonsense that only Tony could understand.

And, "Power is provided by an air-cooled, 4-cyl. 90 hp Volkswagen-designed
gas engine..." I always thought it was a Puch designed engine.

I always thought it was a Puch designed engine.
It was!
Volksawagen only came into play on the TD range and the Noriker.

Gotta remember, here in America the "ONLY" aircooled engine in many people's minds was the Vdub. I've even heard the 914 porsche called the VW porsche. So therefore by Murican logic if it's an aircooled, it must be a VW.

Actually, the Porsche 914 was made by Volkswagen under contract with Porsche. It's not intended to be an insult as I own a 914, a 993, and a 712. I love them all!! There is a lot of commonality between the three of them.

And let us not forget the Corvair and the Tucker!!

For years the only air cooled American engine I knew of was Briggs & Stratton ! I used to get $20 month to mow and water the neighbors lawn, and gas was 25 cents a gallon! Mark
