Exhaust leaks at short tubes and seals

Post by pcolette »

Hi everyone,

I've noticed that I have an exhaust leak from both short tubes. They are both loose and their seems to be a lot of play in them. I don't know if this is normal or not but exhaust definitely leaks out and I think that fresh air may be getting in (is this possible?).

I've seen that both Expedition and SAV carry replacement flex connectors that eliminate the tubes and seals with a new assembly. Does anyone have any feedback on these? I'm leaning towards the SAV unit as I've had excellent results with other items from them.

Sorry if this has already been addressed but I wasn't able to find anything.

Thanks,

Paul

I recently put the SAV flex connectors on my truck along with new manifold gaskets. What a difference it makes in the noise level.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for you response. I ordered the SAV kit and hope to install it in the next week or so.
