Sweet install of door locks - I have been putting it off for months and I am a lock and security contractor- latches came out - locks went in - DOOR LOCK NOW!!!!!!
SWEET!
About 20 - 25 minutes from start to finish and I am very happy with the results - I would suggest SAV door locks to anybody that has a Pinz!

On the topic of door locks...
Has anybody here ever come up with some type of conversion to make the door locks automatic? (like with a remote?)
I've got a K, and it would be sooo nice to just hit the clicker, rather than walking around the whole truck to unlock everyone's door when I've got passengers.
This would also make it possible to actually lock the doors when you're inside.
(Not the a potential car-jacker would have the slightest clue how to drive it

but still, my wife is big on locking the doors once you're in.)

I suppose you could make up some sort of simple actuator bolt.

not to worry about locking the doors when your in it - YOU WANT A FAST WAY OUT JUST IN CASE_ and people are usually either scared of the pinz or so intrigued by it that the last thing on somebodies mind is a carjacking!
LOL!

The problem with the key locks on the Pinz are that they are not of a "lost" motion type. The cam is secured to the key cylinder directly and there is no way to lock or unlock the door from the inside since the exterior cylinder will hold the cam in the position last left.

It's great, for keeping the passengers from escaping, before they pay the fare!

Find a hungry, obsessed kid at an alarm shop. Think of custom cars with shaved exteriors with no handles, they work to release doors,a simple actuator that works much like a K rear door would be no jump for these show dogs! Think electric dead bolt.

My best friend installed the actuator door locks on his Duece and a half. He has a seven channel remote that pops his doors as well as heats his glow plugs and starts the engine for him. then again this Duesce has more toys in it than most homes!!
