Carb Maintentance

Took the carbs off today to tighten up those lose screws inside. Guess what? They were tight as could be. There is visible gas seeping through the thick gasket between the throttle body and the upper part of the carb.
Took them apart and cleaned the heck out of them with carb cleaner. Were those gaskets soft at one time? I don't see how they could seal, they are rock hard. I didn't mess with any adjustments just cleaned them as best I could. Did find one curous thing. The main jets in the rear carb were almost falling out. They were only screwed in a thread or two. I snugged them down.
Put them back together and she fired right up, whew! I'll watch them to see if the leak comes back. If it does I'll try new gaskets and see what happens. She runs fine so I don't want to mess with too much.
