Window channel. How to stop leaks?

Water is running under and over the double channel the windows set it. The frame under the rubber channel is rusting pretty bad. The door panels are rotted where the water runs in and down over them. Don't want it to get any worse (rust).

Also, pretty annoying when you shut the door and water flings all over you.

I bought the kit from CWR, which replaces the lower channel with a deeper channel and has a drain. You have to take the door panel off and drill a couple of holes in order to run the drain hose out the bottom of the door. It helps a bunch, but does not totally keep you from being splashed. I can't remember what I paid for the two kits.

I saw some on another truck. I asked the guy and he said they worked ok but still got a lot of water on the inside. must be nice to have water instead of ice. :)

Just looking at the design I don't see how you could ever "waterproof" it. More concerned with keeping the channel/door insides from rusting out. Once I get the inside door panels replaced with aluminum or something I won't have to worry about them rotting.

That has always irritated me. It seems like they did such a good job designing the truck and then there are a few odds and ends where they took a break or something. The door channels is one of them.

Weird, it's pouring out, and I just came back from a drive to the store. No leaks from the doors whatsoever, the top is a different story.

I know my Pinz was rebodied at one time, and the window design is slightly different, on the bottom front of mine it's rounded instead of squared off. Anyway, I wonder if the newer window tops work better, as I don't appear to have any leakage from that area. If that's the case, maybe you could replace the window tops with newer ones?
