I know this has been brought up in the past, but has anyone know anyone who actually has done this? It would be nice to get some width on those pizza cutters of wheels. Balancing is an issue that comes to mind...

Look at page 2 of "Tubeless steel rims". I've installed the Staun beadlocks. See

I have seen those before. Look pretty slick. How are they working out for you? Are you able to run a 12.5 wide?

I have been interested in running 12.5 wide tires on my 710. However the little research I have done, seems to indicate that the bearings in the wheel drives suffer with the wider tires.
Any thoughts on this?

Wider tires causing issues? I can't see how. Now if you offset the wheels to create a wider stance (more stability) this would put more strain on the axles, bearings, etc.
Just my opinion, but the only issue with wider tires should be fitting them in the wheel wells and loss of power due to higher weight, and more effort due to the larger circumference of the tire. Course, fitting a 12.5 tire on a 6.5 rim could be a challenge.
Oh yeah, braking will be worse also.
