Bought some new rubber valve cover gaskets and was just wondering if I should put on a little Titeseal or gasket sealant on the surfaces before I install them. Any help would be appreciated!

I have the gaskets installed (Expedition-Imports rubber ones), Just use gasket sealer on cover side.
Works great, I have adjusted the valves a couple of times and find that the covers come off easily and the gaskets never leak. About 5 months old.

Tom is spot on. We normally remove the valve cover, surface and true it up on a light belt sander, then use a thin coat of sealant on the valve cover side, and nothing on the block side. We have been very pleased with the results of these gaskets.
Based upon the feedback of the valve cover gaskets, we just ran a batch of oil pan gaskets as well. Same Viton rubber, and same good results.
Cheers,
Scott

Does anyone know what the torque spec is on the valve cover? I couldn't find it in the manual
