Hey if anyone needs a rewind and rebuild on their Pinz alternator?
I just got mine rebuilt by some friends in the automotive power end of the biz!
He sent my stator out and got it rewound high output 50 amps, and rebuilt it with sealed bearings.
$300.00 + S/H rebuilt with sealed bearings and high output rewound stator.
Let me know , about a week to 2 week turn around from when you send me your core to when I send it back!!!!!
Just trying to help out fellow Pinz owners!!

Gents
When installing an alternator that has higher output than the standard Bosch unit a new uprated sub harness needs to be installed to handle the output. That was an expensive lesson someone learned long time ago when one of our customers presented us a Pinz with a burnt harness.
At best the standard Molex connector in perfect condition has a problem in handling the max 30 amps and will quickly overheat/burn if the contact is marginal. In fact a considerable number of alernator failures we have seen are/or can be directly attributed to this weak link in the B+ve circuit.
Over the years when we have dealt with this type of failure, we usually recommend a change to a new seperated #10 wired B+ve with uprated disconnect as used on big trucks. This is particularly so when an owner is sporting all those amp consuming accessories!
When installing a "HO" alternator we supply an uprated sub cable assy to handle the increased power. Remember us folk in the trade sometimes have a sick humour when it comes to vehicles. There is a saying that all MV wiring has smoke built into the wire when its made. If you are careless or inexperienced when trying to deal with it you can let the smoke out! The bigger the wire the more smoke there is.
A real smoke out can be quite spectacular!

Dennis you should be ashamed especially after Imus got in so much trouble with this HO comment. Calling a Pinzie alternator a "HO" alternator. Reverand Sharptom and Jackson are sure to be the next posters on this thread. OH wait, it might take several months to get added to the group. Vince then will be in trouble for discriminating against non Pinzie owning people. Time to take my tounge out of my cheek and go to work.

Oh (semantics) what a wonderful part of the English language whatever version you speak.
I'd better watch out for those politically correct types; I don't want to deal with to the "dark side", Darth Vador!
