front end noise question

just a quick one that i somewhat doubt can be answered without hearing the problem for yourself...

i recently noticed that when i turn left, there is a new noise (or at least one i hadnt heard before) coming from the front end. if i had to guess, id say its coming the diff :x dangit. it wont do this turning right, or at least i cant hear it. its difficult to hear at higher speeds. i first heard it turning in my cul-de-sac as its most noticible at low speed.

basically, its a kind of muffled rattling noise. not a sound like sheet metal rattling on another piece of metal, more of a deeper pitched internal sounding rattling noise. as if there were a bar or steel shaking in a metal hole. hows that for a terrible description!

anyone out ther have a similar problem? please tell me that i just need a new map light bulb or something like that. i can probably afford that.

Two Pinz's had this issue maybe the same kind of noise. I found that the nut on the ball joint at the Pittman arm off the steering box was loose. Don't believe that a nut secured with a cotter pin is always tight.....

Check for rust in the noisey portal, could also be a worn axle cv joint.
