One of our other drivers saw a 712FW in the NW area of town at a house, he took some pics with his phone. I will try and download them to post next week. Anyone else seen it.
If you are the owner give us a shout. And post some pics.

Hi Miles,
Although it is a Mercedes - it is NOT an Unimog. It is a 4x4 Mercedes Truck build on a Mercedes Truck frame. We call them also Mercedes roundnose trucks.
The Model is: MERCEDES LA 911 B MA
And this vehicule can also be found with the following setup, which is often used by people doing trips to North Africa.
Altough they are 4x4, they are underpowered for heavy duty use. Most only have 130 Hp and some have 150 Hp. Nearly all have 4x4 (switchable) and a differential lock on the rear axle. The draw back is their long wheel base and heavy weight.
Otherwise they are fun to drive and have. A few pics of them with a couple of Pinzgauers in Tunisia, last winter.
Otherwise, here is a nice base for on offroad Truck. It's a 6x6 Steyr Puch Truck with locked rear axle/differential. Empty weight 7 tons.
Best Regards,
Jacques

It seems that I may have found my source for some Las Vegas based Pinzgauer knowledge. I'm hoping a few of you here might comment on where you take your Pinz for service in the Las Vegas area and on reliability of the vehicle in general. I'm looking to pick one up in the very near future and trying to do my homework in advance of the purchase. Thanks.

After looking at some of your likes in art work, it will be interesting to see what paint scheme you come up with for the Pinz.
Good luck with your search

Mr Zero...Sorry I can't suggest anyone to work on a Pinz as I do my own work on mine. I've only seen a few other Pinzgauers here in town, and don't know any of the owners. Your best bet is to talk to the VW shops in the area.

Hey Miles,
I made the purchase of a 710K and it turns out that the shop I already do all my mechanical with, Meyer's Service on Boulder Hwy, was very comfortable with the Pinz as they're VW specialists. I created a dialog between Meyers and SAV and the few mechanical issues that needed to be addressed were handled smoothly. After replacing a cracked carb float body, motor mounts and replacing seals on one of the front wheel drives the Pinz is running smmmoooOOOooth!
Just got it out of the paint shop (before/after pics below). It's still a work in progress, but I'm definitely pleased so far. If you see me rolling around town say 'hi'.

Thanks, Ed. The plan is to finish the project by camperizing the interior, throwing a Maggiolina tent up top and start overlanding the hell out of it!

Goatwerks (Jim Laguardia) is only a few hours away, you might want to talk to him.

Maybe it's time to get a Las Vegas Pinz event put together.
By the way, where'd you get your K painted?
