Someone will no doubt know the meaning...
If you look at the left side of your dash covering when you open the drivers side door I am most certain you will see a round hand painted dot of color. In my truck it is yellow. I seen many other trucks with the same dot of color but never another color. What is the meaning behind this dot? (My theory is that this was some kind of code given the truck when it was released from the Swiss military and designates a code of condition, overall or engine compression...)

Mine has a yellow dot and a blue dot about 3 inches above it. The mystery deepens...

Mine had a yellow dot and a blue smear also.

I guess I'm really in trouble then! Mine has the yellow dot, a red dot, and the blue smear! Gulp!

I have a yellow dot and a stenciled white "A". There's also a matching A by the passenger grab bar. Oh 74 710m ex radio soft top

As I suspected...lots of yellow dots (and then some other colors and cryptic letters...) I am really surprised that no one has of yet jumped in with the solution to this "code". Hmmmm...

A few years ago this was discussed and it was speculated the dots represent upgraded items(EX-2), or it was a grading system as to condition of various components. This was the old pre upgraded, pre hacked board.
