PTO option

Has anyone out there seen a PTO-equipped Pinz?
Section B, page 1, paragraph two of the repair manual states that:
On request the gearbox con (sic) also be equipped with a power take-off which is particularly suitable for driving hydraulic pumps. Also every five-speed gearbox can be converted to power take-off.
How would one go about finding this mod, and what might be its cost?
Thanks!

Hi Steve,
Only Pinzgauer 710 (very few) were equiped with a power take off, and only those that had a snow plow attached to them. Due to their work in the snow, hardly any have survived the use in snow and salt or are in bad shape. Recently the last one (from the swiss army) was sold at an auction in Switzerland. Maybe 3 people (private Pinzgauer owner) have ever seen a PTO on a Pinzgauer here in Europe, hence parts are rare and very expensive, provided you have the chance to find everything. Your best solution is to get a belt driven hydraulic pump installed. I have seen some people do that, especially those that install power steering,
Best Regards,
Jacques

Jacques,
Thank you for that information! Sometimes when I find new (to me) bits of knowledge, the mind spins with the possibilities of "what if..."
Somewhere I have seen a picture of a Pinz with the snowplow attached, but thought it was all manually adjusted.
Thanks again!

I believe that some of the Pinzgauer 712K Fire Trucks had a PTO arrangement to power the Hydraulic Pumps.
