I was running the Trxxs tires on my 712 and loved them. They were truley bullet proof and lasted almost 30K miles. When it became time to replace them I could only find a couple so I ended up looking for other options. The Mickey Thompson MTZ's became my tire of choice. I am happy with them though I have had a sidewall failure (something I never experienced with the trxxs). The MTZ's have been holding up well in all other areas except the sharp jagged rocks of the AZ desert. I think they are a bit quieter than the trxxs and am currently running the MTZ's on both, the 710 265/75 with stock rims and the 712 285/75 with widened rims. They handle the low tire pressures well and they are readily available at any good tire shop. The cost is almost identical so that was not a factor.
Not trying to sway you from the trxxs just giving you an option.

The last set I bought were from Discount Tire. They seem to be everywhere??? Downside is that they have to order them and charge an extra $50 per tire for shipping. You may be just as well off by ordering them yourself. 4-Wheel and Offroad mags have numerous ads.

john

They are my favorite tire FWIW.

I think some of the problem was the timing. I needed them just after the Katrina thing. The production was down on certain tires, at least that was the story then.

Try 4 wheel parts, I have got both sets of my Interco TSL Radials there, only needed a day to get them from their central wearhouse in LA, as far as the Traxus M/T's they seemed to be in fairly good supply on the showroom floor, Like Mike said the Interco products are very bullet proof, have yet to blow out or slice a sidewall, even on sharp rocks, awsome snow and ice traction, here in California, the highway authority "Cal Trans" has a 3 stage process for chain requirements, "R1 Chains required, snow tires allowed" "R2 Chains are required on all vehicles except four wheel drive vehicles
with snow tires on all four wheels" and "R3 Chains are required on all vehicles, no exceptions." I have been in all 3 conditions and have never needed to chain up, last December 2006, under R3 chain requirements at a chain stop, The CHP Officer pointed at me and waved me thru no chains, Now I did deflate a few thousand feet lower at a R1 chain stop and the officer saw me pull a solo spinout out of a ditch no chains, so if your looking for a awsome snow tire this it the one you want.

Pinz Enthusiast;

Were you running the Interco TSL's or the Truxus M/T's on your 712 when you pulled the car out of the ditch?

Russ, No, you've got it wrong. Pinzgauers ARE allowed in Wisconsin.

It's just that tax-paying, Pinzgauer-owning WISCONSINITES are not allowed to operate their own vehicle on the road.

It's really very simple.

Paul from Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. Still smiling, but it's gettin' tougher....

ps: Yes, that IS sarcasm presently dripping off your computer screen and all over your floor.

those will be much better for you than the street tires :D Ran them on my 712 for a couple years until I could not get them anymore. Great tires against the rocks down there.
Party up here on the 21st of June and then a trail ride the 22nd. If you get time this should be a good time. you can always stay at my place, lots of room to park truck and trailer.
