Brakes Pulling to One Side

My 710 has developed a tendency to pull to one side during braking. The trouble is, it some times pulls to the left and sometimes pulls to the right and sometimes stops straight. It can do all three on one journey. I have noticed that the pull seems strongest if the brakes haven't been used for a while, and that repeated braking can minimise it or make it go away completely. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Pull all tires off and take off the brake drum. There is a sight hole with an adjustment cog. Use a screw driver to adjust the cog. I can't remember off the top of my head which way to turn the cog for tightning the brakes.
Basically check the brake pads for oil. If the drum and pad are oily, clean real good with brake cleaner and fix whatever is leaking.

The brakes should be adjusted correctly every so often. If no one chimes in, I will get my shop manual and go through the process with you.
It is very easy and no big deal.
If you have an oil leak--that can be a big deal, but hopefully your brakes are just out of adjustment.

Thanks John. I don't think it is a brake adjustment issue though. I have adjusted the brakes many times and am happy doing so. Neither is it an oil leak. I have once had a hub seal go and have replaced it. The hubs are currently clean and fee of oil. For me it is the random behaviour that I find confusing as I don't really know which corner to suspect.

How much play is in your steering,i.e. can you rock the steering wheel side to side with no visible wheel movement? If the steering gear is loose it may allow the truck to follow minor issues with the road,making a minor brake issue much worse. Another thing I've found on 2 out of 3 of my trucks is the bar securing the steering box to the body was loose. It's under the floor plate. Needs to be real tight... Hope this helps.

Also the brake fluid will break down and gell up a little. One of the first things I have done with my pinzies is to do a complete hydraulic fluid flush on all systems. I can stand on the brakes on either pinz without pulling issues now that the "gell" is removed.

Thanks. Will bleed give the system a good bleed (and make sure that the steering is tight).
