I know this subject has probably been beaten to death, however, I cannot imagine how anyone can stand the military style wiper system on the pinz.
I even have a brand new wiper motor on mine.

Sooooooooooooo, jump in here anyone and tell me about what you have done to beef up this wimpy system. I can't live with this one.

Theres always the one made by Cold War remarketing, other than that dont really drive the pinz in the rain much.

I too don't drive much in the rain.

Truthfully, the ludite in me sort of likes the crude functionality of the wipers. Not too unlike the rest of the truck, IMHO, and I love my truck. (As evidence, see WisDOT topic)

I did have to replace the damn gear in it ($$!!!!), but it more or less works. It is adequate for your average downpour, and it's as good or better than the wipers on my CJ5.

I Rain X the hell out of the windshield and only use the wipers in a downpour.

Adding the adapters for modern replacement blades, and an intermittent wiper switch will get you as good as it gets. Basically, the same as the Pink Cow...I just remembering that the defroster wasn't the best on my 710 or 712. Opening the sides or back may be cold, but help the fogging of the inside of the windshield. Closing up the inside only worsen the problem.

But then again, it never rains in California.

Andy,

If I ever find a good replacement I will let you know about the wiper motor.

Well, I had a feeling there was only so much I could do. I do use rain-x. Great product.

Is the plastic button that attaches the motor arm to the wiper available or do I need to fabricate something???

Critter, I checked for parts after you started this thread the other day. I won't swear to it, but i'm pretty sure SAV has almost everthing for the system. At least it's all pretty much listed, I didn't check to see exactly what is or isn't in stock.

Someone has already mentioned Coldwar and I'm almost positive Dennis at Lindenengineering had a system or was working on one once upon a time.
