underneeth wax coating ?????

Post by Pinz Enthusiast »

Norcal Pinz,

I used a product called Waxol, a Swiss made professional Hardwax, unlike traditional undercoatings with a tar base the hardwax dries compleatly to the touch, that way you dont have to worry about getting it on you or your clothes while working under your pinz, I sprayed about 4 to 5 cans under from front to rear, it looks good and changed my color scheme from green over green to green over black which I really like, let me know if you want some pics...

Texas Pinz,

Dont know about Peter, but I bought mine from my Land Rover parts supplier, roversnorth.com, it's about $14.00 a can or so, I bought a case was like $180.00, I will say like doing a bedliner it is very mesy while spraying it on, and care to mask off anything you don't want covered, you will need a solvent to remove, I would also wear laytex or rubber gloves and old clothing as it sprays out so fast a lot a material blows back on you....

When I first got my truck I took it to Ziebart not long after I got it. They scrapped off the loose stuff did the under coating and rust proofed the body too. There have only been a few places where it peeled off because the old stuff can loose. You need to show them where "not" to spray. the cost was only about $250 back then.

Eric,

I can't seem to find Waxol anywhere, not even on the roversnorth.com website you mentioned. Any help would be great.
Thanks.
