Check the wire and connector for the sensor switch at the rear diff. My connector had gotten all dirty and corroded (and loose). Cleaning and tightening did the trick. Might as well check on the others, front diff and 4x4, while you're under there.
Hope this helps.

If it's not the connector, remove the little plate at the diff and clean up where it attaches to the diff housing. There is a little slip on connector under that cover. All these connections have to be good so that is has a good ground.

And then, if still not working another place is a white molex connector. Remove the dog house cover. On the passenger side where the wire harness and the hydraulic pipes go thru follow the wire bundle down looking for a white moles connector with ... if memory serves therr are 6 wires into and out of the connector. From the connector, the wires go down the central tube to the covers mentioned earlier. Many times this connector is loose/corroded, etc.

I have put a can of electrical contact cleaner in my tool box. There are so many connectors that I find that are corroded or filled with dirt. that is the first thing I do now when I have any trouble with the wiring. After cleaning and re-connecting I put some dielectric grease on it.
