UK War and Peace Show

Just came back from the War and Peace Show - fantastic event, one of the best shows I've been to and some stunning military hardware - tanks, half tracks, Jeeps, Pinz, Landies, Russian trucks, you name it. Fly-by from a Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane too, I think (not brilliant on the older planes).

I'll post photos when I get a chance if anyone is interested?

Funny that, I was there too, from Wednesday to Sunday. I parked next to a 710K which came from Brighton, on the south coast, and later in the afternoon 1 x 710K, 1 x 710M and a 712M towing trailers camped next to us, these chaps had come from Liechtenstein (to those unaware, it’s between Switzerland & Austria and took them 18hrs), a 712M from Belgium also drove by us and stopped and introduced themselves. On the Friday, the Belgium’s and us 2 Brits went into the arena and had a drive around in front of the crowds; the 712M from Belgium was also interviewed at the front of the arena.
It’s a massive event with around 3,500 military vehicles of all descriptions. http://www.thewarandpeaceshow.com/
In the evenings when the public leave, there are various tents providing live music and of course lots of BEER for the exhibiters\entrants.
I also saw a French 712m and a 710M country unknown, with everything folded down\taken off and covered in camouflage nets, and also for Prof Pinz a couple of Haflinger’s, one from Austria.
I have a few photos which I will upload later.
Many thank’s to all that I met and shared a cup of tea or a beer with, a thoroughly good time was had.

Regard’s

Colin 712M UK

Unfortunately we don't have that facility, but if you are really keen I'll burn you a CD and post it to you. Have to warn you, the photos are of all sorts - not Pinz! But let me know. PM your address and I'll fire em over.

In the meantime I was just gonna post a few here...

Nice pictures of a very diverse group of vehicles. The 712 is really nice and the Ural with the radio box is good looking also.

Do you know who owns the 710 TD (716 "look-a-like")?

You got that wrong Peter... it's a 716 Wantabe. In Pink Cow color

Did you ever notice, that all the Wantabes have been dressed up as P80s? :)

have been dressed up as P80s?
I guess it easier (less parts - modifications etc) Dave, to make a P80 "wannabe/look-a-like" than it is to make a P90+..... or a PII

What's that mounted to the front of this Pinz? I thought the tubes holding the antennas looked different. Looks like a stinger to me

That's an antenna mast, a German made one. I believe what was used on 404 Mog and Luxenberg LR 101 radio trucks. The Brits use ones made by Clark Mast......if my friend saw that, I wouldn't be surprised it came up missing.

I didn't see any, but there again there were a heck of a lot of vehicles on display. Just looked through the entry list and it seems there were at leats 3 (the official program lists all vehicles, by type/category). Steve from Marple, Ian from Hindley Green and Alan from Felthorpe.
