I have one front axle boot I just noticed is split pretty badly. My question is, if I continue to drive could I damage something??? And how hard is it to replace?

Use a split boot kit, takes less than 30min to do.
After you put the screws in the boot you need to super glue the ends.
Let the glue set for at least 15 min, then slide the boot into position and clamp it down. Check and top off fluid in diff and you are done
