Good news!

Took my Pinz to the testing centre today to see if I could get an import certificate... which it passed with flying colours! The examiner even mentioned how tidy the vehicle was!

Fantastic! And a huge relief as the local test can be pretty stringent.

Now I can get it re-registered and start to use it in anger. 8)

Congrats !! How did you get round the speedo marking sketch ? On the mainland it seems you can have a speedo marked in furlongs per phase of the moon ! Stretching it slightly but ......

An MOT guy said it can be in kmh or mph - anything that indicates speed !
Didn't argue. Just dayglow dots on the glass of mine - 30mph, 40mph etc.

Anyway, go forth and enjoy !!

Cheers!

The speedo... well, we cut a piece of perspex to fit, then marked up the mph speeds on the reverse and siliconed it into place. Tester seemed happy enough!

Hey! Where do you guys live, anyway?? WISCONSIN???

Just joking. But when I read "re-registered", it hit a chord with me.

It can be pretty frustrating trying to satisfy the government, obviously, no matter where one lives.

I like the ideas for recalibrating the speedo! I might have to do that.

Glad to hear you're back on the road. Congratulations.

I went to all the expense to get an electronic VDO speedo. It died after 2700 miles :-( so... I reinstalled the kph original. I now have 75,000 on the original (plus the 2700 miles) and when it is time to roll over I will just get a new mechanical one. The electronic stuff is just not for me.
With the 33 inch wheels it is naturally a bit off anyway, but lately I have been using the GPS to clock speed and it works out that 70kph on the dial is 52mph.
