i had to spend a summer in orlando. i crashed in my vehicle at night because, for one reason, it was far more comfy than inside the air conditioned (closed) house i was renting. all my truck had was two "fantastic vent" ceiling vents with only one running on its slowest speed. just that awesome blossom-filled airflow was completely cooling and refreshing all night. they ran off an agm battery charged by solar panel. with this system i've stayed 100% cool in 90% of the hottest this country has thrown at me. the other 10% of the time (burning man during the day and southern az) i've had to turn on the other vent (low speed). best sleep ever.

That is an awesome set up, I'm working on doing something similar with my 710K, just picked up a 7000 BTU spot cooler/dehumidifier that I can run off a Honda EU1000i, the hammock idea is great, hadn't thought of that.

I was wondering how to make that work, did not think the basket pipes were that strong. Very impressed, thanks.

First very cool idea on the Hammocks. Great way to stay cool.
Here is the Smart Solar 100 Vent I will be installing. No wiring, easy install, manual on/off switch and can be shut to seal out the weather if needed. Having this run during the day to keep the heat from building up will eliminate most of the discomfort in summer camping.

In the 710K I will fit, I'm 5'10" and I can situate myself just right to make it work. Any taller and there will be problems. That being said, if the hammock is hung diagonally for one person someone 6' or perhaps more could fit. A 712 has all the length in the world and could perhaps accommodate several diagonally hung across in a row. Don't know how you would fasten but it might be worth a look for more than 2 campers.
I weigh about 170 pounds depending on how much beer I consume, and my son is about 110-120. We didn't have any problem with the bars of the screen bending. The hammocks were from a surplus army store and I was able to string them to have fairly short lines on the end.
Kids love hammocks! Dads do too but are more particular to the HUGE kind that can be set up outdoors that have an attentive wife/kid bringing cold ones as needed. Your mileage may vary on that one...
