I haven't seen the original mirror but it would make sense for a M model with the top off. Any rearview mirror would work that bolts on in a similar fashion.

For a K model, or in my case a modified M to K conversion, there really is only a small area to view with a rear view mirror.

I may go with a small round mirror, like a motor cycle side mirror, mounted low off the center air tunnel. It will mimic the side view mirrors in style and still be functional, even with the windshield down. It would be nice if I can find one that pivots at the base as well as the mirror, so that it could be folded down and away.

Yes, I have one in mine.
When I replaced my windshield frame, I also got a factory mirror since the frame already was equiped with the nutserts in place 8)

I have a suction one in my K and find it very useful.

I purchased one on ebay which is out of an old VW.

It's glued with some 3M tape to the glass and I do not want to miss it.

I just got a generic one at an auto parts store and used the glue to mount it. Works great.

My K already had a rectangular Wink mirror in it when purchased. Works well just right size to see over spare tire. Visors don't interfere either.

I was surprised that my 710M didn't come with a rear view mirror so I just went to a local auto parts store and picked up an after market unit, drilled some holes and was ready to go. I'm sure you can find a good cheap model that will work.

like texaspinz i bought a cheap (i believed it was like 5 or 6 dollars) rear view mirror and drilled and screwed the base to the top metal edge of the windshield. It works great and bullet proof. It is nice to see behind you.
