THE PORTAL HUB - Pinzgauers, Haflingers, Volvo 303s and more!

I keep seeing posts about how hard it is in US to find mirrors to fit the Pinz, or that they are expensive. I just bought 2 x truck mirrors, they just fit around the mirror stalk and you tighten the screws. They were just over £13 and seem robust enough, the ones I got were convex, but they do them with flat glass and in various sizes. I,m sure they would ship if asked.

It looks like they have a bunch of potential options that would work well for a Pinzgauer. Has anyone identified a US source for mirrors that are like these?

If there is not a source in USA, then I am sure that this UK company will ship, even with shipping it has got to be cheaper than Unimog mirrors!I know how much they cost here. These Ashtree mirrors are just regular truck (in UK big truck) throwaway (if you smash em) mirrors, I like the idea of the heated ones......Poland in winter....they will come in handy for sure.

Just three views of the mirrors in situ on the pinz. I may be reading it wrong and mirrors are plentiful stateside (just the original Pinz mirrors expensive and rare) But if anyone needs it I can ship a pair at exactly what I paid for them + postage. Hey you might consider them to be flimsy rubbish, but at that price? Decent, cheap mirrors for the Pinz have never been a problem here...

The mirror were around $10,and in a lot of auto part stores.
I have made those stem adapters since '01. And a simple piece of plumber's tape or electrical clamp will do fine also.

But I will keep the link handy if I ever destroy one of my Supacat mirrors

David, just as a point of interest, last summer when I went down to Honiton, in Devon to pick up a Disc brake conversion for my 69 Landrover, just next door to Zeus Engineering (disc brakes for classic cars) was the original home (and I think still home to the design studios) of Supacat.....it looks like a couple of old hangars, it is on an old airfiled (now used only for light planes). It really does look like something from 'The rocketeer'...but with bits of older Supacat products just lying around a yard. Maybe your Supacat was 'born' in that very place. If I ever go again I will make sure to take a pic of the place, it could be described as 'quaint'?

Dreadnought, Are far from the pinz factory you should get pics if they haven't moved every thing to Africa.

Zeus has also has done runs of disc brake conversions for the 101s. I've had a few conversations with the Supacat factory when I imported mine from Canada....(an interesting ordeal,in itself) . I've told them whenever they were ready to to scrape a Jackal, to send it my way. .... Heck, I'd sell my Pinz if I could get one here...weight of a SBU Mog, and the size of an American pickup.
Pinz owners wouldn't harp about the price of parts if they had to buy for a Cat ! .... or dealt with ATL
