It is called "paracord" correct?
The elastic cords used to hold down the top on my 710 are starting to tear. Any idea where i can purchase replacements as well as the straps for terminating into a loop? Do i just use a pair of pliers to crimp the straps in place?

It’s called “solid core rubber rope”. You can find it all over the internet. It comes in many different sizes. IE, SAV and others carry it as well.

Does the EPDM Rubber Cord and Polyurethane Cord work good for tie downs? I see on their web site there using it as bungee cords. Wonder if it could work like the webbing they sell for luggage racks.

I bought #3937T32 from McMaster-Carr and it's been working great so far. It seems identical to some of the cord I had previously purchased at SAV.

The EPDM Rubber Cord seems to be similar if not identical to what Scott and Willy are selling.
Scott?
If you only need a little, want it to match and are already ordering something else. You might as well order from EI or SAV. Then you know it will be right.
Scott and Brian at EI are very knowledgeable about everything Pinzgauer and more than willing to help. Scott is not about making every penny he can. He is more than willing to send you to a competing source if it will work better for you. He, like all of us on this board is an enthusiast and has tried or done most of the stuff we pinz guys want to do to our trucks. He has been an unbelievable resource for Mike and me setting up our own business. If it was not for Scott’s advice we would be out of business right now. Shoot them an email with your questions.
Of course the same can be said of Jim L and Dave D
That being said
I bought 3/8 inch, 150 feet EPDM solid core Rubber rope for $26 + S&H on eBay. It is thicker than the stock pinz stuff, but should work well on the ugly duck.
Best regards,
Jim

This is the same material... just imperial verses metric sizing. Stretch it, and at some point it will be a metric size.

But it all probably comes out of China now, and is a nomial sizing.
Years ago, I had a need for a special dimension on a extruded vinyl gasket for some windows, there was one available, but too thick for the application. The manufacturer made a special run where the material was pulled through the machine at a faster rate, strinking the overall sizing.
The double pinch hose clamps are the same as used by SDP also.
