Guys,
How are your Pinz set up for camping? I'll be out on the road for some time and wanted to ask how you guys have your pinz set up for the outdoors to spend nights in. Tents? , Nets? beds? Any pics would be helpful.

THanks,
Peresh.

When I travel by myself, I have a cot that I keep bungee'd to the roof with a pad and sleeping bag. More often (we) use a tent and real fold up cots. For an extended trip I have a M416 trailer with a roof top tent. The trailer carries all the gear: stove, chairs, gas, food and cooking eqpt., clothes, etc. That is for long trips of a week or more and extended distance, as in from here to Seattle area.

When I'm camping in my Pinzgauer 710M I fold down the rear seats on one side and use that for a bed with some padding cut to size and a sleeping bag. I removed one seat on the opposite side and mounted an Engel slide in locking mount for an Engel refrigerator. The other seat is left open for sitting. My gear is loaded in plastic bins which fit in the narrow aisle between the bed and seat. When I arrive at my destination I just pull out the gear boxes and I'm almost set up for camp. I cover the bedding with a tarp to keep the dust out and wipe everything off with a damp towel so all that's left is to wipe down the tarp and pull it off of the bedding.

The TuffRiver top goes a long way toward making a 710M into a back country camping vehicle. The insulation helps a little in Summer and Winter. The best feature is the screen windows for ventilation.

Our Pinz is a camper inside, some of the early work can be seen here

The whole top has now been insulated with closed cell foam, the bed has a proper mattress from Ikea and we carry an army style 9'x9' tent for when there are 3 of us or we want more space if we are staying put for a while. Cooking is just done with a portable gas stove that can be used on the table inside or outside depending on weather and if we have the tent up.

The whole thing is more of a tent on wheels than a motor home, but it is cosy and has great views from the windows:

Sorry Have edited links so they now work!

I found the easiest way was throw a tarp over the back and an air mattress and sleeping bag on the floor in the back, a twin mattress fits perfectly. I've stayed warm and dry in snow and rain, of course when the wife goes along I drag the Coleman pop-up along.

I have slept in the back, both in the footwell, and with one side's seats down (preferable), but now I use an Oztent RV5.

This is easy to put up and fits just right in the back of a 710 when its folded up. This is the set-up:

Sometimes I use the M416 trailer with the roof top tent.
