Removing gear from axleshaft.

This is the part I am talking about:

I need to remove the gear from the axle shaft, due to a weepy seal. How do I proceed? Thanks for your input!

If you do a search, you will find images of at least 2 different methods of ger removal with instructions 8)

Jim, I looked over all post sin "Drivetrain" before I posted and did not find anyting, except one thread that did not help. However, Blackstack already send me the scans, which are exactly what I needed. Brgds,

I am sure Jim is correct (could it be otherwise ?) however we all are slack in giving our post a title that has the keywords that someone with a similar problem would think of when doing a search.

I suggest a little more thought naming posts especially those asking for procedural advice

Jim what are the keywords that bring up the strings you mention?

Thanks Jim, that picture and the link were also very helpful! 3 out of 4 axles pulled so far without breaking a lip!

Eric you have this exact tool? or have used one similar? This tool looks like the jaw might fit under the gear but I am not sure.

Yes I have that exact tool I bought it just for removing that gear.
