Thanks to the helpful folks on this board, my 712 is on its way to my door. The price was a little higher than I thought ($1500), but all said and done, a great truck at the right price.
Is it normal to tip the driver if its his own personal business? If so, how much?
Do you tip the car transport?

Firstly congratulations on making this happen..Im excited and happy for you...and know the feeling of relief once the Pinz is loaded and on its way..In my case there were so many setbacks that I thought I would eventually fly to indiana and either drive or tow the Pinz back so when I finally found a guy willing to do the job I was dancing around my house like a school girl. Tipping is always a personal decision and I would hate if it became customary, expected, and regimented such as in eating establishments...my guy got what what I had in my pocket when he arrived which was a twenty spot....it was appreciated and unexpected
life is like a box of chocolates...you never know which one you might get

Having dealt many times with many different haulers, I can say that it is not expected nor would I do it unless there was something unique that had to be handled and that would have taken more time over the normal issues of transport.

I have seen my friend unload vehicles and other than prompt cash payment and a truly sincere thank you, a few extra bucks for the gas is always appreciated, especially if you think that person took a personal interest in getting your baby safely to your door.

I tip everyone if they do an exceptional job. Sort of reminds me of my friend Vince who takes care of the Real4X4 forum website. Every so often, I send him some dough via PayPal.
I value what he does for us by keeping this website up. Maybe YOU should think about doing something for him!
