Cleaning the gas tank (the baffle area)

So I took the tank off this morning and took it to the rad shop. They told me they could clean it....some light acid and a high pressusre washer.....dunno.
He was concerned about the baffle area though...he couldn't access that part.
Do you think just putting it in the caustic tank would work.
