Any Pinz owners in PA

I'm new to the forum and am considering buying a Pinzgauer. I am concerned about the ability to title a Pinz in Pennsylvania. I don't see anyone posting from PA. I am concerned that this may be an indication that PA is unfriendly to owners of a Pinz. Any advice? I am looking for a daily driver so I need to be legal. Thanks. by the way I am in the Philly suburbs if anyone has a nice Pinzgauer for sale in the tri state.

Chad,
In the event you do not find any Pinz owners there, you could also inquire with your local DMV as to whether they will issue registration for Pinzgauers (when presented with a previous valid US title - or appropriate fresh importation paperwork).
As with most ex-military vehicles, it seems to cause less problems at DMV if you do not offer up such info as "it's ex-military" or "ex-Swiss-Army", etc. Just identify it as a Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer, and answer their questions. Period. Likely all they care about is a valid U.S. title.
If you need the specifics, Pinzgauers are allowed to be imported based on Federal laws which allow the import of vehicles over 25-yrs. old without the need to conform to the requirements of FMVSS (safety standards). The document is Title 49 U.S. Code Sec. 30112(b)(9). Do not get into a debate about this, merely know that you've got federal law on the Pinzgauer's side. If your state does not have a law prohibiting Pinzgauers (which it likely does not) or limiting their registration choices, you're probably good to go.
My guess is that someone will come forward from PA and answer your question.
Good luck.
