That vehicle is not legal in California and you will NOT be able to register it here

California only allows gray market vehicles manufactured up to dec 31 1974 by state law.

Look up the vehicle laws for Colorado or call Linden engineering (in Golden Co )
to find out if it can be registered there.

thanks, i've left a message at linden engineering, and am waiting for reply. it looks as if there is a separate emissions test for vehicles made before 1981, it is more lenient, but still not sure if a pinz would pass it.
is there any steps to take to make a pinz more emissions friendly?

I have had my pinz up for the emissions test in CO. Not a problem but there is only one guy that I know that does Pinzies.
edit: Forget the PM. Here is the info. Dennis recommends this guy as he knows pinzies. This is where I go.
only thing is, he does not work in KM's, the DOL really doesn't care how far you have gone.

Guys
I was browsing and glancing over this post, I suppose its worthy of a mention.
In Colorado you will have no problem with Jerry's Emissions--BUT he doesn't do adjustments only testing.
If the rig is made after 1981 it has to be tested by the state monopoly and a whole set of different regulations apply. The 710's will rarely pass unless the tester overlooks something--like the HE is a Cat! Which we have done by "B essing" the main man --once!
If its a 712 it will up to 1982 as no Cat needed --it (712) falls under a commercial truck catagory! Just.--due to its GVWR.
Hope that is of help.
Dennis
