UK Pub Owner 718 Rebuild.

Years ago on the net (10+ years ago) there was a comprehensive article on a UK Pub owner who was rebuilding an early model 718 (I seem to remember it was red in colour) for a overseas trip....to Africa I think.
Depite continually searching for the article or any information on the vehicle/owner I've never found anything.
Can anybody shed any light on the subject???
