Tour company crash injures at least one
At least one person was injured Monday morning following a one-vehicle accident involving a tour company headed out to zip lines in North Kohala.
The accident, reported about 8:54 a.m. in the Makapala area, involved 10 people aboard a Pinzgauer six-wheel drive vehicle operated by Big Island Eco Adventures, said North Kohala Police Capt. Richard Miyamoto.

"Andrews on Thursday said the crash involved just seven people. Just one person, a 20-year-old woman, suffered a hand injury and all others continued on the tour, he added.

According to Andrews, the vehicle began rolling backward, around 3 mph, after the driver apparently didn't shift the gear correctly. After rolling 20 feet, the vehicle came to a rest in some Christmasberry bushes, he said."

Doesn't sound too bad considering. I'm just curious how you could roll back 20 feet without trying to use the middle pedal.

It's been real wet. Maybe he was on the brakes but slid back after he locked them up and lost control? Great selling point is how poorly the tour companies drive and maintain thier vehicles - but they keep on ticking!
