Morris,
It's Russian. Here's a link to the company: http://www.atonimpulse.com/Our_Company.html
It doesn't sound too available, but ya never know.

Hmm. Maybe not. Oh, by the way, does your Pinz float??

I am not going to try that stunt as I am reasonably sure my pinz does not float.
The thing comes in various configurations (six wheel version) and even has a powered
trailer for additional load capacity. Looked through the link Paul provided and saw nothing
about how many rubles these things cost...so I'm guessing it is based on configuration or a whole lot, whichever.

I contacted these guys in Russia about 2 years ago on this vehicle. Very nice, and corresponded in good English.
They were planning on importing to the US in 2012 or 2013 (but that was before the economy tanked) and at that point they were going for around $100,000 as I recall. The indended market was off road or wilderness tourism. There were some videos on Youtube of them driving some similar prototypes with humungous tires (very low pressure!) over glaciers and ice fields/streams on some rather impressive mountains.

My thought exactly... On the Siberian tundra (loads of snow in winter, very wet in summer), probably another story...

Wow, Stalwarts have taken a big jump in price.
I had ideas of getting one, but 20k lb weight, a full 102" wide and a top speed of 45mph just didn't appeal to me for some reason... :?

A few years back I imported a soft top framework for a Supacat, once I get some room, I'll sneak my one cat out of the Tank museum and retrofit the top to it.

Sort of looks the part, but 1/5 the weight and 30" narrower, much easier to maneuver the In n Out drive through.

Dave,

I dunno. I'm thinking that Alvis looks almost do-able.

As a kid, George Stauffer had one in town that I got a first-hand look at. At that time, I had a Matchbox version, which was always a favorite. It's in my bedroom right now  , and I'm 51. :(

And as a matter of fact, as a result of the law that DOT managed to get passed last year, I could even license that baby for highway operation, for parades and displays and "necessary maintenance" (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

I wish it was a little closer...

Maybe you're right, that the Cat is better. P'raps you'd better ship it out to Wisconsin so I can get a closer look! I promise I'll return it someday...

And to All,

As for that Viking, SHEESH! You guys aren't satisfied unless it can do everything! (In my own defense, I did title the thread: "non-Pinz".)

We're all just spoiled because we own Pinzes!!

Paul,
Even in the Republic of California the Stalwart is street registerable...
I'd also be worried that I'd fall off climbing up and in that thing like a tank... plus the "fish bowl" cab would cook me in the So Cal heat :(
As a matter of fact, my Supacats have Alvis dataplates ( and registered as such :D ), Alvis (now BAE) have the license for military sales.
I am always looking for that "unusual" vehicle that is importable, registerable, insureable and seviceable. And living Los Angeles, not so big to run over every Honda and Toyota going around the corners on neighborhood streets

Think of your Argo as the same as Paul's matchbox version of a Stalwart to the real thing
