Misfiring, known water ingress (710m)

After fixing my alternator/battery issues I've now gained some misfiring issues on idle. It's fine at revs.

I've had this before and found it to be condensation in the distributor. I've had the dizzy off, cleaned and WD40'd it but I noticed mud splashes in the air intake.

I took the air filter cover off and found water in the bottom of the airbox. There was probably a couple of mm of standing water which drained when I took the cover off.

The air filter looks ok. Do I need to strip anything more to be safe or should it be ok with drying the airbox?

So I've reassembled everything and given it a 2 mile run. We blew some steam out the exhaust to begin with but it seems to now be running fine. I think I'll count my blessings and be a little careful with deep mud in the future.

Maybe it's snorkel time... :)

Keep a can of WD-40 with you. Blow that into the distributor and it will displace any water inside.

Uh... I think that's what he wrote that he just did! It's just that he's speaking "English", unlike us 'mericans.
