Silly me, left my manual 350 miles away. Does anyone have the procedure for setting points gap and dwell laying around?

Gap points to .4mm or .0157".
If you lack a feeler gage, you can use a match book cover and be close enough to run good.
You really should convert over to the civy ignition with Pertonix module. Scott now offers his kit with a conversion coil wire so the original coil is still used.

There is something to be said for keeping the original military ignition system in these machines. If you change your points once a year you should not have any issues whatsoever from that system. The civilian system is a fine one but why reinvent the wheel just because you need to do a little periodic maintenance? Let us not forget that our sun could blast off a CME (Coronal mass ejection) in 2012 (Bad year) like the one in 1859 and the subsequent EMP (Electro magnetic pulse) will be Suffices to say problematic. This EMP will wipe out most of the electronics in the effected area (i.e. the world) and the old Pinzgauer's naturally hardened ignition system will still be viable and yes, cherished. Think about it!. Ok I went a little off the reservation for levity but the old ignition system is still a very good one.

 And that’s why there’s a spare electronic module in my trucks tool box, along with a set of points just in case.
Naturally the gas stations would likely be out of commission after an EMP however I figure with all the dead cars my siphon hose will come in handy.
Being a sworn disaster worker hopefully the city won’t requisition my truck for their uses. Then there would also be the problem with zombies, will the problems never end?

Well, Thank God the good folks at Hornady have come up with a new line of ammo that will give us the ability to defend ourselves from the hordes of the walking dead.
