THE PORTAL HUB - Pinzgauers, Haflingers, Volvo 303s and more!

I'm wondering if these uniquely tall tires will fit a Pinz. My 710K sits pretty tall at 82 inches at the roofline, so no sagging springs, but what about turning/bump clearance? Here are the specs.

255/100-16 XZL are just a modernized name for the 9.00-16
I my opinion, you are getting way too tall and heavy for the little Pinz engine to push ( especially a 30+ year old worn engine).
The Brit specs for their Pinzes was the 8.25-16 XZL ( Also the US 718's)
255/85-16 (33") is about as tall as you want
The last tires fitted standard to the 716 and 718 were 285/75-16 which are 33" also... but remember those truck have a whole lot more HP to move them, power steering and 4 and 6 wheel disc brakes to slow the momentum

Thanks David, those were the size I was originally considering when I came across the Michelin's. The 255-85/16 does seem like a reasonable compromise. I think that's the direction I'll go. Looking at the Toyo Open but they're not cheap or easy to find.

If you can get those XZL in 255/100R16 radials get them fast!!!!. They will fit perfectly and you will gain a lot top highway speed without too much compromise off-roading, just prepare to have stronger arms if you drive the pinz often... I have had 900-R16 all the time but with tubes and those are a pita because of the tubes... now with 750R16 radials until I can get those michs.... They are used here in a vehicle "built" by the goverment called TIUNA but havent found any wrecked yet...
