By the law of the land, they are not street legal in the US....but some state's DMVs are licencing them. No saying what some one will do on a given day. My 716 has been registered in CA for 9 1/2 years... in error by the DMV, no fraud, and when they figured it out, they grandfathered it. Under the 25 year rule, only a few hundred 716/18 are eligible for importation.... but it is still up to each state to whether they will licence it or not.

And the 716s are night and day better

thanks, i am looking at the 718, hope it does better than my 710 in the snow. is it just as reliable as the gassers, and is it much more complex?
my goal someday is to drive from south africa to paris. hoping this is a good candidate for that as well

You're having difficulty in snow?? I'm from buffalo new York and my 710 did incredible. I couldn't get the thing stuck when I tried. No snow chains either. Can't imagine what I could have done in chains..

I'm guessing it's all in your tires. :D

Yeah I've got some super swampers but we were headed up to the crest and it just bounced but we were in at least
24-27 inches of snow on the road
