new for me 710

By way of introduction, it looks like I will pick-up a new-to-me good condition 710 in the next day or so. I suspect over the years it will be a learning experience, to say the least, hopefully from the combined wisdom here.
The question at hand: I'll need to drive it away ~~400mi via highway to its new home. From reading posts here these seem to be extremely reliable and folks make major highway jaunts all the time...
Any suggestions or tips on checking/taking/watching anything special on this first trip? (I'm already packing my trusty AAA Premier card
)
Thanks for any suggestions

I don't think I would do it all in one day, since you don't yet know the vehicle. Your title says DFW, where are you getting it (new pinz) from?
Enjoy the trip, it can be an adventure in one of these.

Earplugs are a must.

If you're in the Dallas, Fort Worth area, you should look up Carlos Salvelli in McKinney and Timothy Woodcock down in the Salado area. You've gotten good advice about the ear plugs from these folks. It's going to be loud!

You need to appreciate the affect of the 5.65 to 1 final drive ratio. Here are my RPM @ various MPH with 265/75-16 tires:
50 3129
55 3442
60 3754
65 4067
I'd also be sure to have a quart of oil with me and check it after 200 miles till you get a feel for your engine's appetite.

Yes loud.
I have added sound deadening material to mine and it made a world of difference. Got the idea from my Mog, cut the noise down by 50% in the Mog.
The pinz is a can that vibrates at every uncovered piece of metal. The stock sound deadening that is installed does not really do enough.

One of willy's@sav. Trip went fine. Loud as a single engine airplane but more searing as it's mostly gear noise. Good weather, noise cancelling headset, lots of fuel stops, no drama. Thanks for the tips.

Arkansas back to Dallas? That's nothing. We had a guy here several years ago that (correctly me if I'm wrong folks) was from Yellow Knife and he bought a Pinzgauer in the Minneapolis area but had Dennis in Denver service it first before he headed north with it. Talk about a road trip with lots of stories along the way! Your trip was $hit!

JerrBear? He bought his 710K from Stauffer Classics in Blue Mounds, Wis., had a bunch of mods done here by Hellwig Auto first, and then dropped by Linden to really set it right. And yeah, then on to the Yukon. But that guy hunts bears with a bow and arrow! That just smacks of crazy...
DJW, Don't let Texas bust yer balls. AL to TX is still a decent first run.
At least with the noise level, we don't fall asleep at the wheel too often!
Good luck with your new toy.

I drove my recent one from sanfran to tacoma in one day 1,000 mi. drive it slow (55-60mph) were ear protection and stop and check it every 100 or so miles.
It will be a blast
I also brought some spare parts and some extra tools just in case. Thankfully I did not need them on my drive. Take lots of photos along the way to remember your first trip! Post them when you get home.
Good luck and welcome to the club!
