a few more additions to my Pinz

I found some nice compact LED lights that I liked for my Pinz. They are 900 lumen (= to +- 70watt bulb) and cast light at 140 degree angle. I mounted the side one just a little inside the side panels so as not to get hung up on branches and the like. The rear one I just installed under the oil can. I also stumbled across a solar shade screen that I thought would work well for a canopy. It came in an aluminum housing, I really did not want the vinyl bag units as I did not think they would hold up. Finally got around to permanently installing the TV in my pinz and the solar panels to drive all the 12v appliances. I got lucky this week and picked up an Engel Fridge/freezer (Mark's has been working so well I had F/F envy).
Anyway here are some pics

A few more pics

Once the Fridge/Freezer is in its permanent place I will get a pic. I want to make a cage to hold it in place while I am having fun with the truck.

What holding the awning at that angle? Did you build the enclosure? Where did you source the awning itself?

The awning came from Costco. It is sold as a shade curtain for a patio. It comes in an aluminum box that is open on one side. I made the door to cover the opening. The box itself is a "C" channel which I made brackets for. The nice part is I set it up so I could leave the brackets on the truck and just slide the canopy housing off if ever need be. I removed the factory installed weighted end and put a length of 5/8ths metal tubing through the seem. This I drilled to accept the supports. I can either stand them up straight and use a few guy-lines or as in the photo just set them on my side rails. I would need to either put some weight on outside edge in a wind or tie them down with guy-wires. The rear unit I made, I just use a counter weight and it works really well. This is just a larger version.
What I like about this unit over the specific built units is it extends out 8' from the vehicle. I can also set the height of the outside if the sun is low on the horizon.
Sounds like a lot of work but from start to finish I only have 3 hours in the install, including painting.

I'd really like to come up with a removable mounting system for a stock 712 without a rack. Maybe something that would mount just below the level of rolled up sides, c clamped to the rear, center and front roll over bar. Mount it only when the sides are rolled up and carefully place the sides over it once deployed. Then again, maybe the best idea is just to obtain a LONG length of canvas and just drape it over the top

for an impromptu shade for the side of a stock 712 I used a 10X tarp. The cheapy carabiners hook through the grommets in the tarp which line up perfectly with the loops on the canvas top. A couple of poles and you are good to go. I have used a 10x16 with the poles inserted at the 12' grommets leaving the overhang to shade the area next to the truck. Works well for a quick and easy setup.

they are the 10w (more like 36w) 12v led lights. Work great and put out a tremendous amount of light. I was planning on two per side but only really needed one since they gave me enough light.
