I tried to remove the fan belt from my 710M this weekend and couldn't budge the fan nut. I got the fan belt tool good and seated, and even with a breaker bar on the nut still no-go. Even tried a little Deep Creep but still no luck. I'm out of ideas, so any advise would be appreciated.

It's probably just on very, very tight. It's a normal nut, not reverse-threaded. So more oomph is needed. T-Lo told me he had built a fan tool which was long enough to brace against the floor. You might try an impact gun to loosen it, but reinstall it by hand wrench.

I just finished replacing a guy's fan which had fallen off. So I can attest to the need for tightening it properly.

I'll probably modify my fan belt tool as well. It's hard to get a grip on the smooth angled surfaces.

I had this issue and broke the Swiss supplied spanner trying to remove the nut!

First put a large block of wood across for the fan belt tool to stop against. I then used a high quality adjustable spanner to clamp on really tight to the nut. Then my hi lift handle on the spanner to get some leverage. I have never exerted so much force on a nut but did get it off while virtually hanging off the bar!!

This was the only bloodless way to get mine loose.

I had tot purchase a short impact gun to remove mine.

I looked at the torque spec in the manual and thought it was a too high, but based on what I've seen and heard from you guys, it must be accurate. I'll give it another try this weekend.

+1 for the impact gun (removal only).

However, I think I put a socket onto the crank pulley bolt with a long bar that was prevented from turning by the ground or some part of the body - this allowed me to put enough torque on the fan nut to remove it. Give it a good soaking in penetrating oil first, mind (not WD40 - it's not a penetrating oil!)

Replaced mine this weekend. Tried my air wrench first and it wouldn't even budge. Was eventually able to get the gun in there which made quick work of the whole affair. The belt was TOAST
