Is there a way of finding out whether any particular Pinz underwent a factory rebuild? Has anyone tried contacting SDP with chassis numbers for that purpose?

This is the only info I have seen, but this is related only to the Austrian military's project:
http://translate.google.com/translate?l ... rehab.html
or
http://www.pinzgauer.tv/rehab.html
The list of changes is mostly complete but there are more I find out in bits and pieces.

Thanks for that. I have none of these features, so that answers my question. No factory rebuild.

I assume that is a partial list?
Would they not have done a bunch of mechanical work and upgraded to EXII differentials etc etc?

I have never seen a complete list of what they spent the refurb money on.
So far the things others have noted in the SDP refurb for the Austrian military:
Muffler - rear exit and full exhaust pipe
3rd generation door uppers with drain tubes front and rear, friction locks in side glass
Interior soundproofing (interior, ceiling, side walls, doors)
Electric window washer pump
Longer rear bumper guard
Weight-dependent brake assist
H4 headlights + reflective stickers
EU standard rear lights (TD style) with back-up lights and reflective stickers
Rear fog lights
NATO 24 Volt Start Engine socket
Larger main switch behind driver, larger key
Regulator for windscreen-wipers (variable interval)
Reverse shift lifting a ring/lock-out
Automatic cold-air regulator in engine intake
Bigger tank on some models
Semperit Ameri-Grip 235/85R16 tubeless radial tires (not sure if these have tubes installed anyway)
120 KPH Speedo
Eberspächer B3LC heater - updated version with dash-mounted control
Updated front seat belt anchor system
EXII Differentials (can't verify this personally)
Additional Steering gear bracing
Hold-down bracket on battery box tray, 6 anchors
Different interior hardware on doors
Kaba 8 keys/locks
Updated/different length interior straps in K models
Updated interior lights, door light switches
Updated rear view mirror design
Fuel tank filler screen
I'm sure there is more but I've never seen a full list.
The bad part is that some of these are oddball parts are rather hard to locate or not stocked in the USA (maybe everywhere).

Yes! I have the battery tray hold down bracket!
I'm claiming it as rebuilt for sure.

Isn't yours an ex-Swiss army truck?
The refurbs were on Austrian army ones.

Yes, ex-Swiss Army. I was joking about claiming the rebuild. Hadn't picked up on the Austrian Army only bit though.
