Thanks for posting,
Difficult to judge whether 10 thousand Euros is expensive or cheap.
Depending on the point of view you can see it both ways, from a total rip-off (the price of a full truck for "just an engine"), to an absolute bargain (how many new engines are out there, sitting on their storage frame, and for how much did they retail originally?)...

10,000 Euro = a little over $13,000. Not a good deal in my book.

I would agree - while cool - it has been sitting around for how long??
It would most likely need work.
I would say you could build a nice 2.7 for less $
Still - it would be one cool coffee table

It's been on and off eBay Germany for the best part of a year with no bidders.
For the cost of a reasonable petrol Pinzgauer plus that engine you could buy a 716/718.
