do snow chains work the same in mud ? the trails here are so slick with lots of clay. Im wondering if the chains will dig in and improve the traction .

I have not tried the chains on the Pinz in mud but in my old jeeps and 2wd pickups they made a world of difference.

On hard slick clay mud - yes chains will help a lot (example the mud you were in on your videos would be perfect for chains)
Deep wet loose mud not much help

don't get to play in real deep mud much around here. If we get two inches of mud most vehicles are not moving. The clay is so slimmy you just can't get any traction and the tires pack up after one revolution. Your only real option is to give it a ton of wheel spin to try and keep the tread clean. I guess it is our version of ICE.

Yes chains can work in the mud however they also tear the crap out of the trail. So much for tread lightly.
