I picked this up a few years ago, it is a salesman model they handed out to prospective fleet buyers. Very few were produced and even less exist today.
I just wanted to share it with the group.
No I have no interest in selling it, but if someone had a comprable steel body Haflinger or 712 model they wanted to trade I would consider it.
This piece is solid cast magnisum model and weighs about 2 lbs.
The truck is secured to the base with screws and turns over to enlcose it's self into the wood crate.

Mmmm, 716K, P90, civilian model , LHD...enough to figure that out.... spare tires in the wrong place, fill it over, I might be able to tell if it's a stick or auto trans

I dont know but would suspect the rear door being hinged on the righ side or only one antena mount being on the right side. those are the only things I see that might be different from one truck to another.

First thanks to everyone that have made contact with me asking if was interesrted in selling it. Again at this point I have no desire to sell. I would consider a trade for a like piece of a haflinger or a 712m pinzgauer.
Their is one other toy I would consider. As most of you know I am also heavly into VW buses. I would trade for a Wiking bus VW dealership sales model like this.

Elementary my Dr Paul,
Unlike 710/12, the TDs have handed wipers. LHD truck sweep from right to left, and RHD are the the otherway
Besides, don't you see the driver's smiling face?
That isn't an antenna mount. What looks like one would be a cyclone type prefilter, as that is the location of the fresh air pickup for TDs and the optional prefilter
Where 710/12 have the spare tire mounted on the door, the 716/18 have a swinging tire carrier on which the back door is bolted

You sir, are deucedly clever. I stand (or sit) in awe.
Westernair,
Very neat VW model. I'm sort of embarrassed to say that, as a kid, I had all the VW sales models. Somehow my dad came up with them. We had several vans, bugs, and even a Karman Ghia. My brother and I played with them until they were all destroyed. We just thought they were wonderfully detailed toys.
Who knew??

Can't get all the detail since I don't speak German, but this is at least similar, although it's a 710K obviously.
