I happened to come across these cushions and it got the mental gears turning:

Maybe they could be used as replacements for the current seat cushions? They are narrower then stock and some form of attachment to the seat frame would have to made.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I just compared the measurements to the original seats and I don't think they'll work. Too narrow and not deep enough.

Well, you could always use the existing seat covers and replace the insides with something like this:

I can't attest to this product but I did redo some airplane seat cushions (bottoms) with a multilayered memory foam with good results. In the airplane world, the point of the memory foam is to form after 5 minutes or so so you can sit in relatively little seat without pressure points for hours on end. That product was fairly stiff and the demo involved sitting on something, say a bunch of keys, and after a few minutes they "disappeared". Initially the cushions were fairly stiff by car standards. And in winter temps, downright hard until it warmed up.

I have never considered replacing cushions on the pinz but I did do some upholstery work on my pinz seats, removing covers, replacing and repairing stitching and the covers do indeed come off without too much difficulty and fit right back on. No idea if mine are the same as yours, but the insides of my stock seats I thought were pretty sturdy and well made for what they were. Maybe replacing the insides of yours would work for you. I don't find my stock seats to be uncomfortable.

I found the stock seats to be a bit uncomfortable after a 12 hours stint on a 1600 mile trip. Replaced them with civilian seats. Had not thought of restuffing them. Thanks for the tip.
