What's a '712 R' ?

Heard of an M, K, T, W etc, but never an 'R' :-)

I thought it stood for 'repair' as in one of the vehicles that was equipped to fix the other pinzies.
I have seen pictures of them and one of the guys I met wanted one for his 'Christmas wish'.

I don't get how the cabinets work or are laid out - unless they are for dwarfs?
Looks like the side opens to serve out of but again with the dwarfs
Do you have more pictures you could post for interests sake (and to perhaps help your for sale ad)

I can't find any reference to R in the factory info, unless it's something the Swiss Military dreamt up
Do you mean a Workshop model (W)?

This is a 718 NZ Military Workshop unit, it has no "standard" factory designation but I daresay it does have an NZ code.

I guess that would be it (workshop). I have seen pictures of several over the years. I can recall seeing tools, barrels of oil (?), compressors, drawers or boxes with parts...that kind of thing.
Cannot for the life of me tie down a location of those pics.

Very kool and good luck selling it! Unique and interesting layout. It looks like the same size box as an ambulance, but not much interior height. Did you have to work from outside?

I have seen a couple of interior shots of the pinz work platform but it was pretty tight. A couple of cabinets and a work platform. Would be interesting to see a full on portable work shop pinz.

It was that type of setup but with hard sides, not fabric. There is a lot in there.

that would be awesome. I considered picking up that Mog at one time just for the curiosity sake of it. A pinz would be fantastic.

I believe that it is a chopped up ambulance. I have never seen a speedo like that. If anyone wants the truck but not the box, it is easily removed.

My speedo is exactly that like- kind of annoying and hard to see through, but the sticker is easily removed if you want.

It's not a chopped up ambulance, the "workshop" version came as it is from the Swiss Army (although they are based on the same kind of box).

TACFL's website has a side-by-side picture of both their ambulance and workshop versions as they came from the auction, before they started doing any modification, here: http://www.tacfl.org/files/Pienzi529-L.jpg

So it was something unique ("dreamt up") by the Swiss Military, as the official factory workshop body had chamfered roof edges and windows as per the photo.

Actually, I have ONLY seen "workshop" boxes without the skylight roof (and I have seen several of them here in the US) but I have never come across any other skylight roof boxes excepting mine and the one in the photo. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has one or has even seen one.
