Custom Camo Hannibal-Like Awning

Due to a lack of awnings that were to my liking, I contacted my favorite fabricator to create a custom awning. After putting our heads together, we came up with an aluminum-framed, roof rack-supported (pole-less) awning that deploys and folds up easily and that fits in a compact case when not in use. Since it is custom, it also seemed like a good idea to go with a camouflage fabric that would make it unique. Once I have used it for a while, I will see if any modifications are needed. We are planning to do a swing-arm so it can be moved from side to back without moving the vehicle.

After he finished yours I ordered one for myself.
Mine will mount to the square tubing on the side of the softop frame when the side is up and I want to use it. Then when folded up it will mount to the inside so I can roll the side down.
I have a some big trips planned soon so I hope to have it by then.
Yours looks great!

The camo print worked so well, I didn't notice it in the first pic! Thought it was a before and after!
Looks great!

I was asked who my favorite fabricator is on another forum--it is none other than Andre Swanson of Fat Fabrications (who has worked for a long time in the Pinzgauer/Unimog/etc community to have his work well-represented and admired throughout the US). He did a great job on this awning as well as the exo-cage on my Volvo.
Cheers,
Greg
