Re: pinzgauer mudding video
Funniest one is part 5 - lifted bad ass J**P heads for the same spot - goes about 15 feet and then just digs in up to his axles!
Then at the end looks to overheat his engine until it dies.
Classic!

Mud bogging is so much harder on trucks than rock crawling is!
Hey did anyone else notice that the fuel tank, battery box, and tool box had been relocated on that 710M? I wonder what for?

yup and yup - most likely just to get them higher so he can blast through anything (like many 404 users that move everything into the bed)Twin Pinzies wrote:Mud bogging is so much harder on trucks than rock crawling is!

I think he blasted the heat exchanger right off the truck! See that smoke? Betcha his rev limiter was flashing something fierce.

Re: pinzgauer mudding video
So realistically, that little bit of fun SHOULD require 4-5 hours of maintenance afterwords. Do you think it will get done?
My guess when the truck starts failing, it will go on Ebay as the cream puff that was only driven on friday afternoon to pick up the milk at the grocery store........
So to make this somewhat constructive...what should you do after your day at the mudbog?
Drain/Change Gear Oils
Remove Drums, Pressure Wash
Remove Engine Tin and Pressure Wash Engine - Pay attention to oil cooler and rear 2 cylinders as they usually get missed.
Pressure Wash undercarriage, especially spring cups
Confirm Bellhousing is dry and not full of mud/muck
Grease Driveshaft and other drivetrain zirks
Drain/Dry water out of headlights and tail lights
Savor the moment. Usually once or twice is all someone needs of doing the after mud cleanup to determine they aren't interested in playing that game.......
Cheers,
Scott

...also dry out the distributer and clean off the tops of the front and rear trans cases where the dirt likes to sit and foul up the cooling effects of the fins. Then clean out the spring cups and all the other stuff Scott listed.
My, what fun it is to get int the mud.
It has always boggled me as to why one would want to do this mud thing....intentionally.

$2000 jeeps and F150's are for "Muddin". Real rigs go off-road expedition style.
Oh yeah, and wait till your engine has cooled down before pressure washing!
