Not sure if this is a great idea - any thoughts?

Yeah. Don't fall overboard.

Seriously, it doesn't seem much more dangerous than "hay-wagon rides", which are sort of traditional around here during harvest season. The driver of the Pinz has worse direct sight, but you could add a spotter like water-skiing. Plus a little adult supervision in the trailer would help.

I've always dreamed of putting an old pontoon boat onto a truck chassis, just so I could drive around our fields at martini hour with some friends. You've got to ask yourself: "why wouldn't you do that?".

I would have thought if you wanted to carry a few more passengers you'd buy a 712 :D

Oddly enough I had just seen a kids train ride last month (the type that rolls around a mall parking lot) lose its third car because of a bad hitch. The driver took a full 6 or 7 seconds to realize it. If it had been a minute later, it would have rolled down the small hill he was about to drive up. Lots of law suits would have followed that one.
